How to check battery health on a phone
Where to find battery health on iPhone and Android, and what the number means.
On an iPhone
Open Settings, tap Battery, then Battery Health & Charging. Maximum Capacity shows how much charge the battery holds compared with when it was new.
On Android
Where you find it depends on the brand. Samsung shows battery information in the Samsung Members app under diagnostics; some other phones show it under Settings → Battery.
What the number means
Batteries slowly lose capacity as they’re charged. A lower figure means shorter time between charges.
